Career opportunities

Position : Call for Applications: Internship Program for Women in Clean Energy

Duration: 6 months

Location: Solar farm sites across Cambodia

Target group: Female graduates from relevant engineering universities

Deadline to Apply: 27 June 2025

About the Program

Women remain significantly underrepresented in Cambodia’s clean energy sector, particularly in technical roles such as solar farm operations and maintenance. This internship program is designed to increase opportunities for women to participate in Cambodia’s clean energy sector by offering six months of practical, hands-on experience to outstanding female graduates from the Institute of Electrical Science (IES), the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), and other engineering schools. Through placements and professional support, participants will gain real-world exposure to various aspects of the solar industry—such as design, operations and maintenance, performance monitoring, and site supervision—depending on their assigned sites, while also receiving technical and soft-skills training to strengthen their capabilities and support long-term career development in the renewable energy sector.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered, the applicant must be a woman who:

  • Has graduated within the past 3 years or be currently completing a thesis at IES, ITC, or other engineering schools in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering)
  • Demonstrates a strong academic record by highlighting, but not limited to, GPA, honors and awards, research and publications, and leadership roles in academic activities.
  • Has basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet use for research/communication, and solar design tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, or SketchUp
  • Exhibits a strong interest in clean energy, particularly solar, and be highly motivated to contribute to the sector’s growth
  • Submits all required documents by the deadline
