The CAPRED Facility Australia’s flagship bilateral economic development in Cambodia, focusing economic recovery resilience over next four years, a possible three-year extension.
The Facility supports in implementing range necessary economic interventions reforms maintain country’s economic transition. These interventions reforms primarily aimed encouraging productive inclusive public private investment, which promotes resilient, inclusive sustainable economy (RISE).
CAPRED interventions fall under three technical components including: Agriculture Agro-processing; Trade, Investment Enterprise and Infrastructure Development; one Cross-Cutting component comprising: Gender Equality, Disability Social Inclusion (GEDSI), Climate Resilient initiatives, policy support. GEDSI at heart all that CAPRED does.

GEDSI is at the heart of all that CAPRED does.
Women remain significantly underrepresented in Cambodia’s clean energy sector, particularly in technical roles such as solar farm operations and maintenance. This internship program is designed to increase opportunities for women to participate in Cambodia’s clean energy sector by offering six months of practical, hands-on experience to outstanding female graduates from the Institute of Electrical Science (IES), the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), and other engineering schools. Through placements and professional support, participants will gain real-world exposure to various aspects of the solar industry—such as design, operations and maintenance, performance monitoring, and site supervision—depending on their assigned sites, while also receiving technical and soft-skills training to strengthen their capabilities and support long-term career development in the renewable energy sector.
