Building a strong and inclusive clean water workforce

On World Water Day, we celebrate advancements in Cambodia’s clean water sector achieved through Australia’s support for skills development and career path options for young engineers.

 

The Australia-funded Young Water Engineer Internship Program, delivered by the Cambodia Water Supply Association, helps address gender imbalances in the sector and improve services for local communities.

 

Seng Sreynang, a water and environmental engineering graduate, recently completed a five-month placement at Lengkheav Prek Ambel Water Station in Kandal Province. Sreynang was able to gain practical experience and apply her technical knowledge to improve water quality and reduce losses for the station.
