Call for Applications to Women in Clean Energy Internship - Cohort 2

Duration: Approximately 6 months

Location: Phnom Penh and placement sites across Cambodia

Target Group: Female engineering graduates and final-year students

Application Deadline: 3 June 2026

About the Program

Women remain underrepresented in Cambodia’s clean energy sector, particularly in technical and operational roles. The Women in Clean Energy Internship Program was established to support female engineering graduates in transitioning from education to employment through structured training, industry placements, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

The first cohort of the program delivered strong results, with all interns successfully completing the internship and securing employment opportunities, the majority in technical roles within Cambodia’s clean energy sector. The program also strengthened collaboration between universities and industry while increasing confidence among host companies in recruiting and supporting early-career female engineers.

Implemented under the Cambodia Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED), Cohort 2 will build on these achievements and expand opportunities across multiple clean energy subsectors, including solar energy, wind energy, battery energy storage system (BESS), energy efficiency, and e-mobility.

Selected interns will be placed with qualified host organisations across Cambodia and gain practical, hands-on experience in technical and operational roles.
